Puppet Making

At first an autodidact in the art of puppet making for the necessity of her own shows, Julia Yevnine then improved her skills through workshops with masters such as Handspring Puppet Company, Mandinga Arts or Natacha Belova, discovering every time new techniques and new materials, thus enriching her expertise.

Constantly curious to discover new ways of making original puppets, she has built a large diversity of characters, using and mixing various scales, materials, and techniques of manipulation. According to the specific requirements, she can create characters that will correspond to the context they will be used.

The puppets she has made so far include table-top puppets, human-size puppets, giant street puppets, sock puppets, sack puppets, rod puppets, puppet with articulated mouth, puppets for one, two or three manipulators, realistic or very bizarre puppets. The materials she has been using include: papier-mâché, foam, thermoplastic, polyurethane, fabric, leather.
